Valve tag FAQs
What goes on a valve tag?
Usually the valve number from your valve chart, like V-104, plus the service it controls, such as DOMESTIC COLD WATER or HEATING HOT WATER SUPPLY. Send your chart and we'll match it tag for tag.
Round or rectangle valve tags?
Round tags are a common choice for hanging from a valve handle by chain or S-hook. Rectangles give you more room for a long service name. Both come with a hole, or choose adhesive to mount flat.
Can you work from my valve chart?

What color should valve tags be?
Use what your spec or facility standard calls for. Some jobs color-code tags by system, so confirm with the engineer of record. We offer black, red, white, yellow, blue and green.
Will phenolic valve tags hold up in a mechanical room?
