Equipment nameplate FAQs

What should an equipment nameplate say?

Most crews use the equipment tag from the drawings, like PUMP P-3 or AHU-2, plus a second line for the system or area it serves. If your facility has a naming standard, send it and we'll follow it.

Can you make matching nameplates for every machine we build?

Yes. Send the text layout and quantity and we'll proof it before engraving. Reorders follow the same approved layout, so every machine gets a matching plate.

Will a phenolic nameplate hold up in a mechanical room?

Phenolic is durable, heat-resistant, chemical-resistant and non-conductive. The text is engraved into the plate, not printed on top, so it stays readable. For harsh conditions, tell us about them and we'll talk through options before you order.

Adhesive or screw mount on equipment?

Adhesive works on clean, flat, smooth surfaces. Screw holes are better on textured or curved housings, or where the spec calls for mechanical fastening. You can also order both.

Can you tag every piece of equipment in my building?
