Disconnect label FAQs

What goes on a main disconnect tag?

That depends on your spec and the engineer of record. Crews often send the equipment name, the source panel and the voltage. We engrave exactly the text you approve on your free proof.

Can I order just one disconnect label?

Yes. There is no minimum. Order one label or a full job set, with a free proof either way. For a long list, send a schedule and we proof every label.

What size disconnect label do I need?

It depends on the space on the enclosure and how much text you need. 1 × 3 in suits a short name. 1 × 4 in and 2 × 4 in give you more room, and custom sizes are available. See the size guide.

Adhesive or screw mount on a disconnect?

Adhesive backing works on clean, flat, smooth surfaces. Screw holes are better on textured or curved surfaces, or where the spec calls for mechanical fastening. You can also order both.

Can you match the labeling spec on my job?

Built to match the identification schedule in your spec. Confirm color, size and text requirements with the engineer of record. Spec job? See Section 26 05 53 nameplates.
